How CampusKosh works

Source the fact. Preserve context. Explain the decision.

CampusKosh is designed around permanent entities, versioned facts, transparent provenance and deterministic calculations.

01

Source priority

Consequential facts should prefer official institutions, government or regulatory bodies, counselling authorities and ranking authorities. Institution-reported, student-reported and CampusKosh analysis remain clearly distinguished.

02

Entity identity

A college, course, exam or scholarship keeps one permanent CampusKosh identity even when its name or public slug changes. Aliases support search and duplicate resolution.

03

Verification and confidence

Important facts can carry their source, academic year, effective date, verification status and internal confidence. Conflicts enter a review queue instead of being silently averaged.

04

Freshness

Exam dates, results, counselling and scholarship deadlines need more frequent review than annual placement or ranking data. Freshness rules reflect that difference.

05

Calculations

Student inputs plus structured CampusKosh data plus deterministic rules produce the numeric result. An AI explanation may follow, but it cannot manufacture fees, cutoffs, eligibility or scholarship amounts.

06

Recommendations

A recommendation should describe what a student gains, what they compromise and how confident the underlying data is. Proprietary weights remain server-side, while the reason stays understandable.
